Los Angeles Harbor College (LAHC) promotes access and student success through associate and transfer degrees, certificates, economic and workforce development, and basic skills instruction. Our educational programs and support services meet the needs of diverse communities as measured by campus institutional learning outcomes.
Recognizing that its proximity to the Port of Los Angeles, Port of Long Beach, Los Angeles Airport, and other major intermodal hubs makes it an important workforce partner for the global trade and logistics (GTL) sector, LAHC has now focused its attention on developing a GTL career pathway that encourages a seamless transfer from high school through to its university partners, and offers many entry and exit opportunities for students and incumbent workers to gain experience in the sector while up-skilling and completing their educational goals. This enhanced career pathway takes into account the need for a variety of training and non-training options in which to gain valuable knowledge within the sector. LAHC is a member of the regional Community College ProGTL Consortium, NASBITE, and APICS, and is activity involved in the regional efforts to support global trade and logistics as an economic driver.
